PARK and OUTDOOR summer time – yay!
Here are 15 Portable Park Snack Ideas (for you AND the kids)
1. ROASTED CHICKPEAS
A yummy crunchy protein filled snack. Make a big batch and have them for snacks for a couple of weeks.
2. HOMEMADE GRANOLA BAR
These do take more time to make than buying them at the store, but they are SO much better. See my blog for my go-to 5 ingredient bars.
3.APPLE SLICES + SUNBUTTER
Spoon a tablespoon of sunbutter into mini containers for individual portions. Green apples are one of my kids fav for dipping as offer a sweet and sour taste.
4.TUNA AND CRACKERS
Have you seen those packs you can buy in the store? Well you can just make your own using mini tupperware containers and your own whole grain or rice crackers!
Fruit Leather. My dehydrator has been going daily with pureed fruits from the fridge (current fav combos berries/bananas and apples)
6.DRIED APPLE CHIPS
Apple Chips….so easy and delicious!
These are the best grainless muffins and I make in my mini muffin pan for small hands and snack size portions.
8. PRETZELS + CHEESE STICK
Two classic snacks combined for a little protein and some whole grains.
9. CARROT STICKS + HUMMUS PACK
make your own and put in small containers.
10. MINI PB&J
Buy some fun shape cookie cutters for fun bite size peices, perfect for snacking!
11. Energy Bites
These are so great to make ahead of time, pop in your fridge and then have whenever you need to grab a snack.
Not just for movie night! Pop a batch of popcorn and put in individual bags for a great snack at the park.
13. PEA PODS + RANCH
Our kids love crunchy pea pods dunked in a cool homemade ranch or hummus.
14. ORANGE SLICES
Instead of bringing a whole orange, a lot of times we will pre-slice it because it is so much easier for you and the kids to share.
15. TORTILLA CHIPS + GUACAMOLE PACK
Portion guacamole (I mash up avocado with fresh lime, Himalayan sea salt and a bit of crushed garlic) into small portable containers and bring a bag of your favourite chips (we love Luke’s organic brand – superfood with sweet-potato and hemp seeds)
